Edward Albee, Lillian Hellman, David Mamet, Arthur Miller,
Eugene O’Neill, Neil Simon and Tennessee Williams.
At the end of the workshop, we’ll present a showcase for an
invited audience, and see if that there Yankee accent sticks!

Gabriella Santinelli is an American actress and singer who has lived in London since
1996. She trained in Theatre at Interlochen Arts Academy (alma mater to Felicity
Huffman), and Chicago’s Northwestern University, famed for its star-quality Theatre
Department. She went on to earn her Master of Music Degree in singing from Mannes
College of Music in New York City. Further Acting Training includes Practical Aesthetics
with W.H. Macy and David Mamet at New York’s Atlantic Theatre Company, and in
Advanced Meisner Technique with Tom Radcliffe at The Actors Temple in London.

Gabriella is an Olivier Award Winner (Jerry Springer – The Opera, National Theatre &
West End). She has worked at the top of her profession as an actress and singer in shows
such as The Phantom Of The Opera (Carlotta, UK Tour) and Robert Wilson’s & Tom Waits’
cult hit The Black Rider, starring Marianne Faithfull (Barbican & World Tour). On
screen, she has acted alongside Colin Firth in Michael Winterbottom’s 2009 film Genova,
Iain Glen in an award-winning short film Vagabond Shoes, and with Jessica Lange and
Halle Berry in Paramount’s Losing Isaiah, directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal. In 2009,
Gabriella sang the role of Rachel in The Perfect Picnic with Opera On the Run at Rhos-y-
gilwen, and then directed Lady Julia by Strindberg, at the Hen & Chickens in Islington.

Gabriella has coached actors and singers privately, and in various London acting studios,
since 2003. She specialises in American Accents and Cold Reading/Audition Technique.
She has also honed a unique system of Dramatic Text Analysis, blending David Mamet’s
Practical Aesthetics with Sanford Meisner’s brilliant method for Emotional Preparation.
