Mrs Joan D’Silva is the reluctant detective in the novel Mrs D’Silva and the Shaitan of Calcutta. She cooks in the best Anglo Indian tradition where every spice has been freshly ground, the meat procured from the butchers on the day of the meal and her khansamin has been schooled to cook in the most hygienic conditions. The dishes are mild with chillies being added later to suit individual tastes.
On the day of her railway journey she has prepared a banquet which will be carried in tiffin cans ready to be shared with the other passengers in her compartment on board the Doon Express.
Here in Pembrokeshire you can sample this unique experience with entertainment between courses and the chance to relive the glory of steam without the risk of getting your bags pinched or catching a dose of Delhi Belly.
The Doon Express leaves promptly at 20.00 hrs on the 6th March.
